I’ve always wanted to photograph a kingfisher hovering against a naturally toned background and accentuating his movement. I found the perfect opportunity one summer in the Kruger National Park. To accentuate the movement I knew that I had to use a slow shutter speed, slow enough to capture the blur of the wings but sharp enough to get the bill sharp. I also wanted the background to be as much out of focus as possible.
